Founded in 2017, the Los Angeles County Cattlemen’s Association was established to represent cattle ranchers and association members residing in Los Angeles County. Cattle have roamed the hills and valleys of Los Angeles County since the 1700s. Cattle have always been an essential aspect of the economic and cultural development of Los Angeles County, the state of California, and our country as a whole.
In LA County today, cattle operations range from hobby farms with 1-2 head on a few acres to Ranchers with hundreds of cattle on thousands of acres. There are nearly 100 cattle producers actively managing over 6,000 head of cattle in the county of Los Angeles alone. These cattle producers provide essential and beneficial economic services to LA County.
In addition to working on issues specific to Los Angeles County, The Los Angeles County Cattlemen's Association works with California Cattlemen's Association and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association on critical state and national issues that effect ranching and the beef industry overall.
